Immigration law is complex and ever-changing. For families wanting to unite or prevent a loved one for being departed, selecting the right attorney is paramount.  I take these cases seriously and understand the stakes involved.

My immigration law practice focuses on the following areas:

  • Family visas — I help immigrants who have a qualifying family member or fiancé living in the United States take the necessary steps toward permanent residency. Starting with helping to fill out and file the paperwork, I handle all aspects of the application efficiently and affordably.
  •  U visas — This lesser known visa is for victims of certain crimes such as assault, domestic violence or intimidation of a witness, particularly immigrants who are here illegally. Cooperating with the authorities after being attacked or threatened can not only hold the criminal accountable, but also prevent deportation and provide legal status to live in the United States.
  •  Deportation and removal — Wisconsin residents do not have to travel to Chicago to retain a deportation defense attorney where the courts have jurisdiction in these legal matters. Criminal convictions could separate family members across significant distances. My job is to bring my experience and legal knowledge to secure a cancellation of removal.
  •  Reopening deportation orders — The act of missing a court date could result in a judge ordering removal from the United States. My job is to pursue reopening the case, providing my clients a much-needed second chance.
  •  Appeals — An adverse ruling on an immigration-related matter does not mean the final decision has been made. I am a skilled lawyer who can identify the specific issues and present an effective and oftentimes successful case   before the Board of Immigration Appeals.
  •  DREAM Act — I can also help you with your eligibility requirements for taking care of the DREAM Act, offering you the legal right to remain in the U.S. if you were born to parents residing illegally in the U.S.
  •  Political asylum — Immigrants who face persecution in their home country may be eligible for political asylum.
